Triple Challenge

Sunday 14th June

The Summer Triple Challenge certainly lived up to its name, with warm sunshine and a welcome breeze creating near-perfect conditions throughout the day. The course looked superb and had dried out beautifully, setting the stage for some impressive scoring.

Twenty-one players, competing in teams of three, took on a format that rewarded both strategy and a touch of daring. On holes 1–6, one score counted; on holes 7–12, two scores counted; and on holes 13–18, all three scores counted. It was a format that encouraged players to back themselves, take a few chances, and go after the big shots.

The teams were a lively mix across genders and handicap ranges, and for some players it was their first time meeting. That blend helped create a wonderfully relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with plenty of laughter, good-natured banter, and team spirit flowing all around the course.

The top three teams were:

· 1st place – Barbara Davies, Steve Manser, Philip Tobin

· 2nd place – Clare Parkinson, Chris Gilbert, Ted Donovan

· 3rd place – Lynne Adams, Paul Smyth, Ian Hammond

Niki rounded off the day by presenting the winning teams with their medals and prizes, before a number of players stayed on to enjoy a delicious sizzling barbecue and continue the celebrations.

Huge thanks go to Josh and the greenkeeping team for presenting the course in such fantastic condition, and to Niki and her team for making everyone feel so welcome and well looked after in the clubhouse.
