The annual Triangle Cup took place on Sunday 27th of July. It is a Skins competition played between the 3 sections, Mens, Seniors and Ladies. Players are invited to take part by their respective Captain who then puts together a running order for his/her team. This is a closely guarded secret until the morning of the competition when players arrive at the clubhouse to find out who they will be playing against.
Play is from the White tees for Men, Red for Ladies and Yellow for Seniors. The hole is won with the best nett score, if a hole is drawn the ‘Skin’ is carried forward. Lots of draws makes for an exciting build up of skins with some players taking 7 in one go!
As the scores started coming in it was very close between all the sections with the seniors just a nose ahead, after seven teams declared their scores it was a tie with the men and ladies, it remained very close but the final scores were Mike and his Seniors 51, Louisa’s gals with 78, and Shaun and his team triumphant with 79. Very well played.
It was a great day with lots of laughs and fun on the course. Thank you to Josh for all his hard work on the course, it certainly helped the good scoring. A number of players stayed on and enjoyed the Sunday barbeque, a perfect finish to a lovely day.
