On a beautiful spring day, 28 players gathered to take part in the Spring Waltz golf competition. The event was played in teams of four, following a 1-2-3 point scoring format, which brought an engaging and strategic element to the day’s play.

The Greenkeeping team had put in considerable effort to prepare the course, and as it began to dry out, players found opportunities for some impressive scoring. The bright sunshine contributed to a buoyant atmosphere, lifting everyone’s spirits and enhancing their performance on the course. There was a palpable sense of relief on the holes where only one score counted, while the holes requiring three scores to count were met with focused concentration and plenty of competitive banter among teammates.

Congratulations are extended to all the winners and runners-up for their achievements:

· 1st Place – 41 points: Bruce Somerville, Ged Butcher, Dale Wilkins, Neil Hodgson

· 2nd Place – 40 points: Bob Miles, Kate Miles, Iain Mayer, Hayley Brown

· 3rd Place – 39 points: Paul Smyth, Janet Hale, Darren Stevens, Roger Newman

Medals and prizes were presented to the leading teams, recognising their excellent performances.

The event concluded with a delightful atmosphere in the Clubhouse, where members gathered to chat and quench their thirst. Many chose to stay on and enjoy the delicious Sunday lunch, rounding off a memorable day of golf and camaraderie.
