Pro-am 2023

On Tuesday 5th September, we had a full start sheet for our 2023 Pro-Am, which is one of the few competitions where we get to showcase our fabulous course and clubhouse to players and Professionals from other clubs.

We were blessed with the best weather we could have asked for; in fact, it was almost too hot. Many of the players commented on the amazing condition of the course which is testament to the hard work Josh and his team put in to ensure the course was looking its best. The whole day ran very smoothly, there were photos taken on the first tee and a Starter to set everyone off.

Following the golf there was a rolling BBQ with a range of salads to suit all tastes. The food was delicious and very well received by all the hungry golfers.

The professionals had a very close competition. Early on there was a score of 8 under in the clubhouse but one of the later starters, James Sharp, came home with a course record score of 9 under, going round in 62 shots. Second was Chris Croucher with a final score of 63. For third place there was a 3-way tie on 67 shots between two of our very own, Ryan Fitzgerald (we now know his nickname amongst his peers in the golfing world is ‘Fitzy’) and David Edwards together with Luke Ringrose.

The Team winners were:

⛳ A J Richardson (Pro), Andy Richardson, Grant Thayre and Steve Kemp with a score of 101 Stableford points with just two scores counting. A fantastic result.

⛳ In second place was the team of Sean Dawson (Pro) Josh Clarke, Wendy Waite and Darren Stevens with another great score of 98 Stableford points.

⛳ In third place was James Sharp (Pro), Joe Jackson, Aaron McPhail and Scott Sallis with a score of 94.

⛳ Winner of Nearest the Pin was Karen Lloyd and Longest Drive was won by James McCarthy.

Well done to all the winners 👏⛳
