A fine and dry October evening welcomed 36 players for the ever-popular annual Night Golf Competition. Following a briefing in the Clubhouse, entrants headed out for a shotgun start. Tees and fairways glowed to guide players around the course, adding to the event’s unique and magical ambiance.
The competition used special balls that light up on impact. The gentle hum of conversation mixed with laughter as players watched their glowing shots arc through the crisp night air. Cheers echoed across the course as illuminated balls landed close to the pin, the excitement lighting up the evening as much as the course itself.
The format was Texas Scramble, with each player required to use a minimum of two drives. Teams selected the best-placed ball, and all players then played their next shots from that position until the ball was holed. The winning team was decided on the lowest nett score.
After the golf, players returned to the Clubhouse to quench their thirst and enjoy delicious burgers or pizzas.
A hush descended as Angie Smith took the floor to announce the winners:
- Nearest the Pin (Hole 8): Rob Minter
- 3rd Place (nett 27, on countback): Ollie Hartley, Chris Mason & Craig Moorfield
- 2nd Place (nett 27, on countback): Leon Cragg, Lewis Hawkins & Bradley Walsh
- Winners (nett 26): Lee Bennell, Scott Bennell, Stuart Bibby & Steven Turner — all from Lottbridge Golf Centre
A huge thank you to Josh and his team for lighting up the course, Niki, Emma and the team for the delicious food and great prizes, Jude for keeping things running smoothly on the course, and Angie and Clare for the scoring and admin support.
