This year’s Ladies Invitation Day was a true celebration of golf, hospitality, and community spirit. Held on Wednesday 4th June, the event saw 24 Cuckfield ladies each invite a guest, with 18 clubs represented, including Royal Wimbledon, Ashdown Forest, The West Sussex, Seddlescombe, and many more.
The weather was kind to us, and the course played beautifully—providing the perfect setting for a day of friendly but competitive golf.
The Halfway Hut, run by Lynne, Rosemary, and Leslye, was a highlight of the day. Thanks to their efforts—and the generosity of the ladies who cooked—we were treated to a fantastic spread of delicious homemade food, giving everyone a warm boost mid-round.
A big thank you also goes to Ian Mayer, who acted as our starter and captured the spirit of the day with some fabulous photography. Ian has created a photo montage and a gallery of the winners.

A special thank you to Bob Miles and Janet Hale for their excellent work recording scores and managing the results with precision.
After golf, everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch featuring quiche, salmon, fresh salads, and a mouth-watering selection of desserts. As always, Niki, Emma, and the entire clubhouse team went above and beyond to create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.
The raffle was another success, raising an incredible £450 for the Captains’ Charities. Thank you to Sharon, Karen D, and Tania for their energy and effort selling tickets, and to everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets.
And finally, a huge round of applause to Clare, who has now successfully organised her third Ladies Invitation Day. Her attention to detail, planning, and ever-cheerful presence made the day run seamlessly once again. We’re already looking forward to next year!
