Ladies Portugal Trip

The start of this year’s Valentines week was the signal for the Cuckfield ladies to head out to Portugal to join a staying on David in the Sunny Algarve.

The week consisted of a Solheim Cup style format of play between Angela Smith’s Cornflower team against David’s midnights.

After and enthralling week sunshine and golf David’s Midnights were victorious in the Elaine Violaris team trophy by the narrow margin of 9-7.

In the Hazel Smyth individual trophy Louisa Rydon was victorious with Clare Parkinson a close second and Hayley Brown in third.

Tania Rayward and her partner were victorious in the Lesley Horne pairs trophy after a thrilling first hole play off against Alison Smith and Louisa Rydon, with Louisa sadly losing her cherished “ball of the week” after what looked to be a cracking shot.

There were a couple of lovely birthday celebrations in the week for both Carol Popplewell and Barbara Davies, with possibly one or three fuzzy next day golf course head accompaniments.

At the end of weeks  Prizegiving, David thanked both Angela Smith and Transport manager/Director/General Jan Neil for their incredible help and support throughout the week.

Angela Smith in turn thanked David for all of his work and effort in producing another fabulous and memorable week for the ladies of CGG.
