On Wednesday 8th December 48 of our lovely ladies played in the annual Santas V Reindeers 9 Hole Fun Day.
This event was my last Wednesday as Captain and was organised by Kate and Clare. The day started with a ritual glass of festive cheer while the teams were announced by myself and Kate…
The 9 hole Texas Scramble was, however, won by the Reindeers, captained by Kate while the Santas, captained by myself, came a very close second. The prize for best dressed went to Tania Rayward and the nearest the pin in 2 on the 3rd to Pam Grinyer. While we were all out on the course having fun Clare worked hard, helped by the club staff, to ensure the clubhouse looked truly amazing with beautiful table decorations, crackers and favors.
A delicious Christmas lunch with all the trimmings was enjoyed by all and was followed by mince pies and Christmas carols led by Judith… Instead of secret santas I asked for donations for Sussex Homeless Support and I am pleased to announce that we raised £200! What a great day of celebration, fun and friendship to end an extremely busy and successful year of golf!
I would again like to thank my supporting team of Kate, Clare, Barbara, Lesley, Janet, Hsien and Karen for all their help during the past year. I could not have managed without them. AND… a special mention to each and everyone of YOU ladies. Thank you all for your continued support through what has been a challenging, exciting and at times tiring year.
YOU are ALL what makes Cuckfield such a special club to play golf at and I am extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to be your Captain.
I know Kate and Clare will now inject new energy and ideas into what promises to be a great new year of golf and I would like to wish them all the very best for 2022.
Thank you all,
Angie Smith x
